In a major operation, Central Police in Karachi apprehended a dangerous and most wanted dacoit gang after an encounter in the Bilal Colony area.

According to SSP Central, the arrested suspects belong to the infamous “Fahad Chipta Gang,” which has been involved in more than 100 serious criminal incidents.

SSP Central stated that the arrested individuals have been identified as Fahad alias Chipta and Shan alias Shani. The gang leader and his close associate were also taken into custody. The gang comprises more than eight members who had become a symbol of fear in District Central for a long time.

During the operation, police recovered weapons, snatched mobile phones, a motorcycle, and cash from the suspects. The gang was involved in numerous crimes including attempted murder, robbery, street crimes, home burglaries, shop thefts, and motorcycle snatching. The suspects were also involved in multiple incidents of opening fire on citizens during robberies.

Just a day prior, the suspects had snatched a motorcycle from a passerby, and CCTV footage of that incident has also been secured by the police. The gang is reported to have looted expensive mobile phones and other valuables worth millions of rupees from citizens at gunpoint.

Cases have been registered against the suspects at various police stations, including Bilal Colony, Khawaja Ajmer, New Karachi, Industrial Area, Surjani, and Taimuria. Police say raids are underway to arrest the remaining fugitives of the gang, while interrogation of the captured suspects is ongoing.
