Lahore’s Chuhang Police recovered Rs2 million belonging to a citizen and arrested multiple suspects involved in taking the cash after it fell on the road.
According to police, a citizen named Rehan had withdrawn Rs2 million from a bank and was heading home on his motorcycle when the shopping bag carrying the money tore open, causing the cash to fall on the road.
SP Sadar Rana Hussain Tahir formed a special team under the supervision of Chuhang SHO Inspector Muhammad Raza. Using Safe City cameras and other investigative resources, the police traced suspicious motorcycle riders involved in picking up the money.
A man and a woman riding a motorcycle were detained, and Rs1 million was recovered from their possession. Further interrogation led to the identification of another motorcyclist, from whom the remaining Rs1 million was also recovered.
SP Rana Hussain Tahir stated that the full amount of Rs2 million has been handed back to the complainant. He commended the special team and SHO Muhammad Raza, announcing cash rewards and appreciation certificates for their efforts.
The complainant thanked Inspector Muhammad Raza and the police team for recovering his money.
