Rawalpindi: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has once again issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan in connection with the November 26 protest case, marking the tenth time such a warrant has been issued.
The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah. During the proceedings, the court also sought updated details of Aleema Khan’s properties across Islamabad and Punjab, and issued show-cause notices to two bank managers for failing to freeze her bank accounts.
Aleema Khan did not appear in court today, while ten other accused attended the hearing and were allowed to leave after marking their attendance.
The court has ordered that Aleema Khan be arrested and presented before it on November 17, adjourning the hearing until that date.
Previously, the court had issued nine arrest warrants against Aleema Khan and directed that she be produced in court today, summoning five witnesses for the proceedings.
Defense counsel Faisal Malik informed the court that Aleema Khan would not appear, arguing that the terrorism-related charges in the case were being legally challenged, as the matter, in his view, did not fall under those sections.
