People living in Block 14, 15, and 16 of Federal B Area, District Central Karachi, experienced severe problems during Eid-ul-Adha because of higher motorcycle and other types of thefts.
Even on Eid, several thieves were active and motorcycles and mobile phones were reported stolen around Samanabad and Gulberg police areas.
People in the crowd said that the police weren’t present and didn’t act, which left the public feeling without support.
The residents are dismayed, especially since the area keeps having daylight robberies and continuous thefts. Now, they want more security to protect their area.
Furthermore, according to the police, Karachi saw a sharp drop in street crime in 2025 by 28% but the number was still far above normal and troubling.
Within those two months, 7,244 motorcycles, 2,806 mobiles, and 306 cars were either stolen or snatched.
There were usually about 125 motorcycle thefts in Karachi each day and almost 49 mobile phone thefts.
