Quetta (15 September 2025) -According to the Education Minister of Balochistan, Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, the most urgent educational issue in the province is the increasing number of children out of school, and incomplete and unreliable data is not allowing proper planning.
Based on the information, the minister confessed that the percentage of children who are out of school in the province is too high and it is touching on the whole system of education. She stressed that the government is concerned with the dropout rate of girls.
She also explained that despite the provincial government efforts to promote education, lack of correct statistics is a detrimental challenge towards the process of policymaking. Rahila Durrani observed that we require research-based and valid data-driven tools and strategies that can ensure that real problems are addressed appropriately.
Balochistan is the most poorly equipped province in the educational infrastructure in Pakistan. According to experts, the greatest challenge is access to schools especially in the rural and female gender. Recent reports show that unless swift actions are taken, Balochistan will lag even more behind in the sphere of education.
