Under pressure from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Cricket South Africa (CSA) has reversed its decision regarding the early return of players participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Initially, CSA had instructed IPL-bound players to return by May 26 to prepare for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. However, the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) have now been extended, and the players will report back on June 3 instead.
CSA’s Director of Cricket, Enoch Nkwe, clarified that the decision was revised after discussions at higher levels. He reiterated that the South African squad will begin training from June 3.
It’s important to note that the WTC Final between South Africa and Australia is scheduled to start on June 11 at Lord’s Cricket Ground
