The investigation is ongoing into the mysterious death of well-known model and actress Humaira Asghar, whose body was found in a flat in Defence Phase 6, a posh area of Karachi.
Taking the seriousness of the incident into account, the SSP South has formed a high-level investigation committee under the leadership of SP Clifton. The committee will determine whether Humaira’s death was natural, accidental, suicide, or a possible murder.
The team is collecting evidence and examining different aspects of the case. The committee includes SDPO Defence, ASP Nida Junaid, SHO Gizri Farooq Sanjrani, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Amjad, and Constable Muhammad Adeel from the IT branch.
The team has been instructed to provide daily progress reports to senior officials.
According to sources, police have recovered and unlocked three mobile phones, a laptop, and an iPad that were in use by Humaira Asghar. The data is being examined as part of the investigation.
So far, statements of two individuals have been recorded, and two more have been summoned for questioning.
Police officials say that all angles of the case are being carefully reviewed, and no conclusions will be drawn until all evidence is fully analyzed.
Due to public interest in the case, the police have assured a transparent and complete investigation.
