Death Toll Soars to 340 as Rescue Efforts Intensify in Flood-Hit Northern Areas

ISLAMABAD – The death toll from the devastating floods in Pakistan’s northern regions has climbed to 340 as authorities intensify rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.

According to officials, dozens of villages remain submerged, leaving thousands of families stranded without shelter, food, or clean drinking water. Rescue teams, supported by the military, are working around the clock to evacuate people from marooned settlements and shift them to relief camps.

Relief efforts have been hampered by damaged roads and washed-away bridges, making access to remote areas extremely difficult. Helicopters and boats are being used to transport essential supplies, while medical teams have been dispatched to provide emergency healthcare to the displaced population.

Authorities fear the death toll could rise further as search and rescue operations continue in far-flung valleys and mountainous terrain. Meanwhile, the government has announced compensation for victims’ families and directed immediate restoration of road links to ensure smooth delivery of relief goods.
