The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has received lists for the appointment of 2,000 more nurses.
The recruitment of 2,000 nurses has been carried out through the Punjab Public Service Commission, and all nurses will be appointed on 100 percent merit at various teaching hospitals across Punjab.
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique said in this regard that the Punjab government is striving on a priority basis to overcome the shortage of doctors and nurses in hospitals.
Meanwhile, Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood Khan added that historic measures are being taken to improve the health sector in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and the newly recruited nurses will be appointed soon.
