A gang involved in committing robberies under the guise of domestic work has been arrested. According to police officials, the joint operation conducted by the Ghalib Market Operations and Investigation Wing led to the arrest of two suspects — a brother and sister — traced through CCTV footage and modern technology. The suspects were apprehended from District Nankana Sahib.
Police revealed that the woman suspect had been employed as a domestic worker at the house of a Kuwait-returned family in the Canal Park area of Ghalib Market. She allegedly planned the house robbery in collaboration with her brother and a cousin. A few days ago, the suspects reportedly held the family hostage and looted valuables before fleeing.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Erum and her brother Ali, while their cousin Sami is still at large. Raids are underway for his arrest. The police recovered Kuwaiti dinars, two tolas of gold, cash, and a pistol from the arrested suspects.
SP Model Town has urged citizens to verify the credentials of their domestic workers at their respective police stations to prevent such incidents.
