RAWALPINDI / ISLAMABAD:
A fresh spell of rain brought much-needed relief to residents of the twin cities as heavy downpour turned the weather pleasant after days of intense heat and humidity.

According to local observations, rain showers swept across several areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, cooling down the atmosphere and significantly lowering daytime temperatures. The sudden change in weather led to a refreshing breeze, making outdoor conditions comfortable for citizens.

After prolonged warm and dry conditions typical of June, the rainfall was welcomed by residents who had been struggling with rising temperatures. Roads in multiple sectors became wet, and grey clouds covered the sky for most of the day, maintaining a cool and calm environment.

Weather experts note that such pre-monsoon showers are common in early summer in the twin cities. These rain spells often occur due to the interaction of moist air currents from the Arabian Sea and western weather systems, resulting in thunderstorms and short but heavy rainfall.

Citizens were seen enjoying the improved weather, with families visiting parks and open spaces after the temperature dropped noticeably. However, authorities also advised caution as intermittent heavy showers may continue in some areas.

The Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility of further rain-wind/thunderstorm activity in the coming days, suggesting that the pleasant weather may persist temporarily before the onset of stronger monsoon conditions.
