Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to visit the United States next week to attend key high-level events under Pakistan’s Presidency of the UN Security Council in New York, along with engagements in Washington.

Dar will chair a signature open debate on “Promoting International Peace and Security through Multilateralism and Peaceful Settlement of Disputes.” He will also preside over the UNSC’s quarterly debate on the Middle East, including the Palestinian question, and lead a session focused on UN-OIC cooperation.

To reaffirm Pakistan’s firm support for Palestine, Dar will participate in the high-level conference on the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution.

During his visit, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings with various foreign ministers and senior UN officials. The Foreign Office highlighted that Dar’s visit reflects Pakistan’s active diplomatic role and its commitment to global peace efforts.

The trip also comes shortly after Pakistan formally nominated former US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in easing tensions between India and Pakistan earlier this year.
