In a disturbing development, narcotics traffickers have begun exploiting underage children for drug smuggling operations.
According to security officials, two minor boys were intercepted in Mardan while allegedly being used to transport crystal meth (“Ice”) to Rawalpindi. Authorities foiled the attempt and recovered 2,000 grams of methamphetamine that had been tied to the boys’ legs.
The operation was conducted on Mardan–Nowshera Road following a tip-off, under the supervision of Saud Khan Gandapur, Provincial In-Charge of the Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation. The raid team, led by Inspector Fakhar Alam Khan and Sub-Inspector Sher Shah Suri, successfully prevented the trafficking attempt.
During the search, the concealed narcotics were seized and an FIR was registered at Excise Police Station Mardan. Officials confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace and dismantle the entire network involved in exploiting minors for drug smuggling.
