Another major corruption scandal has emerged in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department.
An internal audit has revealed embezzlement of more than Rs 207.2 million at the District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan. The audit highlighted financial irregularities, corruption, and mismanagement of government funds.
The hospital’s female pharmacist, storekeeper, and acting hospital director have been identified as the main culprits. Action is being initiated against them.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has sent a formal letter to the Director of the Anti-Corruption Establishment, urging legal proceedings. The letter states that the pharmacist and acting hospital director were involved in corruption and abuse of power. It calls for the registration of an FIR and the recovery of the embezzled amount from the accused.
