A monkeypox case has been reported in the country as a 42 year old patient arrived in Islamabad from Dubai.
According to sources from the National Institute of Health, the 42 year old patient belongs to Attock and had traveled from Dubai to Islamabad on August 15.
Sources stated that BHS staff confirmed monkeypox symptoms in the passenger, and due to the presence of symptoms, the patient was shifted from the airport to PIMS.
According to sources, the National Institute of Health confirmed monkeypox in the patient on August 18. The patient has been kept in home isolation.
