– A major fire broke out in the electronics market at Regal Chowk in the Saddar area on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
According to initial reports, the blaze originated from an electrical fault in the wiring on the mezzanine floor of the building, where several warehouses are located. The fire rapidly spread, raising alarms due to the high density of electronic goods stored in the area.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene after being alerted by market officials. Fire brigade personnel, supported by three fire tenders and two water bowsers, are currently battling the flames and working to bring the situation under control.
Efforts are underway to stop the fire from reaching nearby warehouses that hold large stocks of electronics. As a safety measure, residential apartments on the upper floors of the affected building have been evacuated to avoid casualties.
Authorities have yet to confirm the extent of the damage, while the operation to fully douse the fire continues.
