Punjab schools have announced the schedule for the First-Term School-Based Assessment (SBA) 2026, covering students from Katchi through Class 8 in the notified district. According to the latest available schedule, the assessments are being conducted from September 1 to September 4, 2026, with papers scheduled daily from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

The assessment covers Katchi, Classes 1 to 8, and papers are expected to carry between 25 and 30 marks depending on the subject and prescribed blueprint. Schools have also been directed to complete marking and related assessment records after the examinations.

The Punjab assessment framework uses School-Based Assessment to evaluate students’ learning against the prescribed curriculum. PECTAA’s assessment manual explains that the First-Term Assessment covers the first portion of the academic syllabus, while assessment materials and item-bank guidance are provided for schools to conduct assessments.

For the September 2026 assessment cycle reported for Attock district, teachers were instructed to ensure proper examination arrangements, maintain student records and monitor subject-wise learning progress. Result cards were scheduled for distribution on September 8, 2026.

The announcement is important for students, parents and teachers as schools prepare for the first major assessment of the academic year and review students’ performance after the summer break.
