The Punjab government has announced a major relief for individuals suffering from cancer and heart diseases by offering them free treatment.
The Punjab government announced that it will cover the full cost of treatment for patients with cancer and cardiac diseases and will introduce a special card for cancer and cardiac surgeries.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, patients suffering from cancer and heart ailments will be provided a Special Initiative Card, through which each patient will be able to receive free treatment worth up to 1 million rupees.
According to the statement, in the first phase of the program, 45,000 patients will no longer have to worry about the high cost of treatment due to the new Special Initiative Card.
The Chief Minister of Punjab also requested a program plan for timely treatment of stroke and paralysis, while setting a deadline of January 31 to make the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology functional in Sargodha. On this occasion, the Secretary of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education gave her a detailed briefing.
