Peshawar: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has called for collective efforts by political leaders, lawmakers, and stakeholders to ensure that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) receives its rightful share under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.

Speaking at a public event, Governor Kundi emphasized that the province faces unique challenges, including security concerns, the impact of terrorism, and the burden of hosting millions of Afghan refugees over the years. He said these factors should be fully reflected in the allocation of financial resources under the NFC formula.

The governor stressed that securing a fair share of federal resources is essential for accelerating development projects, improving healthcare and education, upgrading infrastructure, and creating employment opportunities across the province.

He urged all political parties to rise above their differences and adopt a united stance on issues concerning the province’s financial rights. According to Kundi, cooperation between the federal and provincial governments is necessary to address KP’s economic challenges and ensure sustainable development.

Governor Kundi also highlighted the need for transparent and equitable distribution of national resources among all provinces in line with constitutional principles. He expressed hope that constructive dialogue among stakeholders would help protect KP’s financial interests in future NFC deliberations.

The National Finance Commission Award determines how federal tax revenues are distributed among Pakistan’s provinces and plays a crucial role in funding provincial development and public services.
