Karachi: A suspect killed in a police encounter in Shah Latif Town has been identified as a highly wanted criminal involved in multiple serious offences, police said.
According to officials, the deceased was identified as Shameer, who was allegedly involved in a series of house robberies and was known for subjecting women to violence during such incidents. Police sources stated that the suspect had several cases registered against him, including murder, attempted murder, and armed robbery, and had been absconding in multiple cases.
Police said that the suspect, along with his accomplices, was engaged in a robbery spree in the area when police attempted to intercept them. Upon seeing the police, the suspect opened fire, prompting retaliatory action. The suspect was killed during the exchange of fire, while his accomplices managed to flee.
The weapon recovered from the suspect has been sent for forensic examination. Further investigation is underway.
