‎A meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Health was held under the chairmanship of Mahesh Kumar Malani, during which Dr Shazia Sobia expressed anger over the report on people affected by AIDS presented by the Ministry of Health.

‎According to details, Dr Shazia Sobia said that the report on HIV AIDS presented in the meeting was such that if it had been submitted to international organizations it would have been thrown back in our faces. The number of HIV AIDS patients is increasing across the country.

‎She said that there are hundreds of patients who have not even been mentioned in the report. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa there were forty thousand patients in 2025 who were not mentioned at all. If this report goes outside it will cause embarrassment for us.

‎Shazia further said that in 2025, 300 cases were reported in Islamabad which were not mentioned, there was no mention of Balochistan, and there are 7,000 to 8,000 patients in Balochistan alone, while the report shows 81,000 patients.

‎On the other hand, Mustafa Kamal said that ten years of work cannot be done in ten months. All these voices are only now being raised. It has been stated on the basis of assumptions that there are three hundred thousand HIV patients.

‎The Federal Minister said that the Global Fund is giving 25 percent of the funding to the government and 75 percent to NGOs. You will find even more cases, and 90 percent of people are being deported on medical grounds.

‎He said that those being deported will be screened under border health services. In Sindh, children were found to be infected in one location because incorrect syringes were used.
