The number of gastroenteritis patients has increased during the severe heatwave in Bahawalpur.

‎During the last 24 hours, 85 patients were reported in different hospitals. A total of 46 patients were reported at Bahawal Victoria Hospital, while 34 patients were reported at Sir Sadiq Abbasi Hospital.

‎More than 40 patients with gastroenteritis symptoms remained under treatment at both hospitals, with women and children making up the majority of those receiving treatment.

‎Medical experts have expressed fears that gastroenteritis cases may increase further along with the heatwave. Citizens have also been advised to use clean drinking water and adopt precautionary measures regarding food and beverages.
