Increase in Petrol Prices Begins to Affect Public Hospitals

Public hospitals have started to feel the impact of rising petrol prices.

‎The budgets allocated to public hospitals for ambulances, generators, and vehicles have become insufficient, as the increase in petrol and diesel prices has led to shortages in various funding heads within hospital budgets.

‎Public hospitals are facing losses amounting to millions of rupees specifically due to generator expenses, while the budget allocated under the petrol and oil head for the current fiscal year has effectively been reduced to half due to rising prices.

‎For the last three months of the fiscal year, the budget has become severely inadequate, and additional millions of rupees are required to meet expenses in line with the increased prices.
