Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has warned that India might stage a false flag operation using maritime routes to falsely accuse Pakistan of aggression. Speaking in a closed-door briefing to senior journalists, the Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) said that the country’s armed forces remain fully alert to counter any such hostile move.
Lt Gen Chaudhry stated that Pakistan possesses evidence indicating India’s involvement in planning a deceptive attack meant to mislead the international community. He further discussed Pakistan’s ongoing talks with Afghanistan, cross-border security challenges, counterterrorism measures, and India’s destabilizing tactics in the region.
Rejecting the Taliban regime’s allegations, the DG ISPR clarified that Pakistan has not permitted the United States to conduct drone strikes inside Afghanistan from its territory. “This claim is false. No such agreement exists between Islamabad and Washington,” he said.
The briefing came amid a fragile ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan, extended after the Istanbul talks (October 25–30). Both nations agreed to form a joint monitoring and verification mechanism to sustain peace and penalize violations. Their next meeting is scheduled for November 6 in Istanbul to finalize operational details.
Addressing the issue of cross-border militancy, Lt Gen Chaudhry revealed that Pakistan’s security forces have eliminated numerous foreign terrorists, most of whom were Afghan nationals. He linked terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to a growing narco economy driven by opium cultivation. “Over 12,000 acres of poppy fields exist in KP, generating huge profits from Rs1.8 to Rs3.2 million per acre,” he said, warning that some local politicians are also involved.
He added that Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), drones, and Frontier Corps have been targeting poppy fields in Tirah Valley to curb the funding of militant groups.
Lt Gen Chaudhry also criticized the Taliban regime for failing to honor the Doha Agreement, which promised the formation of an inclusive government through a Loya Jirga. “They have not fulfilled their commitments. We prefer peace and dialogue, but if talks fail, we will take other measures to secure our nation,” he warned.
He further alleged that Afghan elements are sheltering militants from Balochistan and using civilians as human shields. “Our actions are defensive and targeted. We will protect Pakistan’s territorial integrity at all costs,” he stressed.
Geo News anchorperson Hamid Mir, who attended the briefing, confirmed that Lt Gen Chaudhry presented concrete evidence showing Afghan Taliban soldiers’ involvement in terrorist activities inside Pakistan the same evidence earlier shared with the Taliban during Doha talks.
