Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has welcomed the recently signed defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, describing it as the start of a “comprehensive security system” for the region and a step toward deeper political, security, and defense cooperation among Muslim countries.
Addressing the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, President Pezeshkian also strongly criticized Israel, condemning its recent strikes in Doha, Qatar.
“Security cannot be guaranteed through the use of force,” he said. “It requires rebuilding trust, enhancing regional connectivity, and creating multilateral alliances.”
The Iranian leader reiterated that his country has “never sought nuclear weapons and never will.” Referring to the Israel-Iran conflict earlier this year, he said his nation had been subjected to “severe aggression,” accusing Israel of undermining diplomacy.
He further claimed that Israeli attacks were responsible for the deaths of children and scientists in Iran, framing them as acts of “aggression” against his country.
