Islamabad: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni held separate meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his official visit to Pakistan, where both sides discussed bilateral relations, border security, counterterrorism cooperation, and regional stability.
During the meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the long-standing brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran. They emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in trade, energy, border management, and economic development to promote mutual prosperity and regional connectivity.
The Prime Minister highlighted the need for continued collaboration in addressing shared security challenges and expressed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with Iran on issues of mutual interest.
In a separate meeting, the Iranian Interior Minister met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to discuss border security, intelligence sharing, and joint efforts to combat terrorism and cross-border crime. Both sides stressed the importance of effective border management and enhanced cooperation to ensure peace and stability along the Pakistan-Iran border.
The discussions also covered the evolving regional security situation and the need for coordinated efforts to address emerging challenges. Both countries reiterated their resolve to strengthen diplomatic engagement and security cooperation while promoting peace and stability across the region.
