Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit Iran on Friday to attend the funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, following his passing.
According to official sources, the prime minister will lead a high-level Pakistani delegation to pay condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan. During the visit, he is also expected to meet senior Iranian officials to reaffirm bilateral ties and discuss matters of mutual interest, including regional peace, security, and economic cooperation.
The visit underscores the longstanding diplomatic and religious ties between Pakistan and Iran, as leaders from several countries are expected to participate in the funeral ceremonies.
