The National Medical Tourism Initiative has been formally launched in Pakistan. The announcement was made at the annual international conference of the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons PAPS.
Launched with the effective support of SIFC, the initiative aims to make Pakistan a regional hub providing low cost and quality medical facilities. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Secretary Health Aslam Ghori, DG SIFC, senior government and medical officials, and international experts.
According to officials, the project will provide international patients with access to quality and affordable treatment in Pakistan, while international participants also appreciated the standard and arrangements of the conference.
Dr Khalid Sami from Egypt termed his participation encouraging and expressed his desire to participate again in the future, while Professor Dr Moazzam Tarrar from the United Kingdom described it as a significant achievement.
Officials said that SIFC is playing a key role in promoting global cooperation, investment and medical tourism in the health sector.
