Security forces killed 31 terrorists linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna al-Khwarij in two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation was conducted in Lakki Marwat district on September 13 following intelligence reports about militant presence. “During the operation, troops effectively engaged the terrorist hideout. After an intense exchange of fire, 14 Indian-sponsored Khawarij were eliminated,” the statement said.
A second intelligence-driven operation was launched in Bannu district on September 14, where 17 more terrorists were neutralised in a fierce gun battle.
The ISPR added that sanitisation operations are underway in both districts to clear the areas of any remaining militants.
“Security forces of Pakistan remain resolute and determined to eradicate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,” the military’s statement affirmed.
