Muzaffarabad: The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has postponed its announced long march toward Muzaffarabad, giving the government until July 21 to fulfill its demands.
According to the committee, the decision was made to provide the government with an opportunity to resolve the issues through dialogue and make practical progress on its demands.
The JAAC warned that if its demands are not accepted by July 21, the 12 reserved seats for refugees are not abolished, and Shaukat Nawaz Mir is not released, it will launch its long march toward Muzaffarabad on July 22.
Committee leaders said their movement remains peaceful. However, they cautioned that if the government fails to make positive progress within the given timeframe, the protest campaign will be expanded.
The Joint Awami Action Committee reiterated its commitment to a peaceful resolution of the issues, while urging the government to take immediate and effective measures to prevent further public protests and escalating tensions.
