Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has claimed that her career in both films and politics has been far more challenging than that of superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Speaking at an event in Delhi, the 39-year-old actress reflected on her struggles, saying her success carries greater significance because she hails from a small village, Bhambla, in Himachal Pradesh. According to her, very few people from rural backgrounds manage to reach stardom in Bollywood.
Kangana pointed out that Shah Rukh Khan’s urban upbringing and education in Delhi gave him an advantage, while she had to face numerous obstacles due to her rural roots. “My journey was tougher because of where I come from,” she said, emphasizing the difference between urban and rural privilege in the industry.
The actress also stated that everyone should take pride in their own struggles and achievements. “I’m proud of my journey,” she said. “People may disagree with me, but that doesn’t bother me. I believe in honesty and in speaking my truth.”
Kangana Ranaut made her Bollywood debut in 2006 with the film Gangster, which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. The movie’s success marked the beginning of her remarkable career, and she has since become one of the most outspoken and accomplished actresses in Indian cinema.
