KARACHI, August 27, 2025 — A disturbing incident of armed robbery and public humiliation occurred in Karachi’s Rizvia Colony early Wednesday morning, where four suspects in a car looted multiple citizens and subjected them to physical abuse, including forcing one victim into a humiliating posture on the street.
According to CCTV footage obtained from the scene, the armed assailants operated for nearly 15 minutes, targeting motorcyclists and pedestrians. In one instance, they intercepted two young men on a motorcycle; one managed to flee, while the other was robbed of his mobile phone, cash, and vehicle, and then physically assaulted.
Eyewitnesses reported that the robbers looted at least three to four individuals during the spree. Victims who later approached the local police station were allegedly told to return the following day, raising concerns over police responsiveness.
Sindh Interior Minister Syed Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from SSP Central. He has also directed that the credentials and performance record of Rizvia Police Station’s Station House Officer (SHO) be submitted for review.
The incident has sparked public outrage and renewed calls for improved policing and accountability in Karachi’s urban centers.
