Police arrested the nephew of former Lyari gang war commander Rehman Dacoit along with his accomplice during an operation in the Lyari area.
According to SSP City Arif Aziz, district city police apprehended the suspects red-handed while they were allegedly involved in a criminal activity in the Kalakot area. Weapons and a snatched motorcycle were also recovered from their possession.
The suspects were arrested within the jurisdiction of Kalakot police station. Police identified them as Haris and Rashid Ali. Officials confirmed that Haris is the nephew of the former Lyari gang war commander Rehman Dacoit.
Police recovered illegal weapons, ammunition, and a motorcycle that had been reported stolen earlier. The snatching case related to the recovered motorcycle was already registered at Kalakot police station.
According to the spokesperson of District City Police, both suspects have a prior criminal record and have previously been arrested in multiple cases. Cases have been registered against the suspects, and further legal proceedings are underway.
