KARACHI – Police on Thursday arrested a suspect allegedly involved in producing and selling fake local and foreign currency during a raid in the Garden area.
According to police officials, the accused, identified as Behzad, was found in possession of fake Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) joining orders, bogus cheques, forged property documents, and materials used for printing counterfeit U.S. dollars, including special paper, chemicals, and equipment.
Investigators said the suspect, along with his accomplices, had been deceiving unsuspecting citizens for the past four years, promising them government jobs in exchange for money.
Police added that the accused had also prepared dies for printing currency notes in accurate sizes. His associates reportedly work as a medical representative and in a call center, helping lure victims.
Authorities recovered a bag filled with fake currency notes from the suspect’s possession. Further investigation is underway to arrest the remaining members of the gang.
