In the port city, two more individuals who were victims of dog bites (rabies) have died within 24 hours.

‎A 75 year old resident of Lyari was admitted to Jinnah Hospital yesterday but could not survive during treatment. The affected individual had been bitten on the foot by a dog three months ago.

‎Meanwhile, a 10 year old girl from Mirpurkhas was bitten on the face by a dog two months ago. She was admitted to Indus Hospital last night and passed away during treatment.

‎It is worth noting that the number of rabies-related deaths in Karachi has risen to four this year, while approximately 8,000 injured individuals have been reported at the city’s five major hospitals.

‎Doctors also stated that vaccines are not always available at various hospitals, and due to a lack of public awareness, people often do not get vaccinated. The public is advised to ensure vaccination immediately after a dog bite.
