Islamabad — Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has alleged that a “triangle” has formed linking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), India, and Afghanistan, which he says is fueling instability through terrorism.
In an interview with Geo News, Asif said that terrorism in the country has never fully stopped, though it has fluctuated in intensity. “At present, Bannu has become a hub of terrorist activity,” he remarked.
Raising questions about PTI’s leadership, he said: “Who is running the founding chairman’s social media account? Reading its content, it seems as if it is being operated from India.”
The defense minister claimed that PTI has never issued a clear condemnation of terrorism, while camps of militants remain active inside Afghanistan. “If Afghan authorities insist that terrorists are not under their protection, then they must clarify their position,” he added.
Asif went on to say that both India and Afghanistan appear intent on destabilizing Pakistan. However, he stressed: “By the grace of Allah, neither India nor anyone else can destabilize Pakistan.”
He credited the resilience of Pakistan’s armed forces and people for thwarting terrorist designs, adding that the “doors of hope” for PTI’s founding chairman are now closing.
