Sialkot — Defence Minister Khawaja Asif warned on Sunday that “mountains of oppression” are being built from Gaza to Kashmir and called on Muslims to unite in response.
Speaking to reporters in Sialkot during a ceremony marking the birth anniversary of poet-philosopher Allama Iqbal, Khawaja Asif said the Muslim world faces a continuing struggle and cautioned that failure to stand together would leave many communities facing the same hardships as Palestinians in Gaza and people in Kashmir.
Echoing Iqbal’s message, he urged Pakistanis to keep the poet’s ideas alive and described Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam as national benefactors whose memory sustains a nation’s direction. “A people that forget its benefactors risks losing its way,” he said.
Khawaja Asif appealed for moral courage and solidarity, saying Pakistanis should raise their voices for the oppressed in Gaza, Palestine and Kashmir rather than focusing solely on their own states. He called on citizens to translate Iqbal’s poetry and ideals into collective action for justice and humanitarian support.
