Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced plans to eliminate heavy schoolbags for students by introducing a bag-free schooling system.
According to officials, lockers will be installed in classrooms, allowing students to keep their books and learning materials safely at school. This step is aimed at reducing the physical burden on children and improving their health and learning environment.
The education department stated that the new system will be gradually implemented across public schools in KP. Teachers will also restructure lesson planning to minimize the need for daily book carrying.
The initiative is part of broader reforms to modernize the education system and enhance student well-being.
