The threat of monkeypox has become serious in Lahore, with two more new patients confirmed today.
Monkeypox has started spreading from person to person within the city. The alarming aspect is that the monkeypox patients have no travel history.
Two more new monkeypox patients have been confirmed in Lahore. Laboratory tests of both patients under treatment at Mayo Hospital have confirmed monkeypox. It has been reported that 28 year old Asad Khadim and 24 year old Syed Sijawal have been found infected with monkeypox.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, two monkeypox patients were confirmed at Mayo Hospital. 23 year old Aneeb and 2 year old Hamdan were found to be infected with monkeypox and are currently under treatment there.
The Specialized Healthcare Department has so far failed to arrange isolation facilities for monkeypox patients.
