Police have arrested a robbery gang that used a child as a shield to avoid suspicion and law enforcement, following a special task assigned by DIG Operations to ASP Gulberg Rajinder Meghwar.
According to police, SHO Gulberg Taimoor Abbas, along with his team, traced and arrested the suspects from Sultan Park. The suspects used to pose as a family and conduct surveillance in various markets before committing crimes.
Police officials said the gang would steal mobile phones, motorcycles, and other valuables when they found an opportunity. CCTV footage shows the suspects fleeing the scene after committing robberies.
Additional footage reveals the suspects escaping on a motorcycle with a child, who was deliberately used to evade arrest and suspicion.
Police recovered two mobile phones, a stolen motorcycle, and a pistol from the arrested suspects. SP Model Town Shehrbano Naqvi commended SHO Gulberg Taimoor Abbas and his team for their successful operation.
SP Model Town stated that cases have been registered against the arrested suspects, identified as Saddam and Yousaf, and further investigation is underway.
