Rawalpindi: Another disturbing incident resembling the Pirwadhai Jirga murder case has emerged within the jurisdiction of Wah Cantt Police Station, where a married woman was allegedly killed in the name of so-called honor.

According to police, the victim, identified as Samira Aziz, was brought to Pakistan from Qatar over suspicions of having relationships. She was shot dead inside her father’s house.

Police stated that close relatives of the victim’s father were directly involved in the shooting. Investigations further revealed that the victim’s uncle and husband, both residing in Qatar, allegedly issued instructions for the killing through phone and video calls and facilitated the crime.

City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani took notice of the incident and ordered the registration of a case on behalf of the state along with a comprehensive investigation. The FIR was registered on the statement of Sub-Inspector Asif Iqbal Khan.

According to the FIR, Samira Aziz arrived in Pakistan from Qatar a week ago with her husband Suleman and uncles Shaukat and Faisal. In the evening, suspects Walid, Israr, and Sabir visited the house and held discussions.

The victim’s sister, Sana Khan, stated that during this time, a video call from Qatar was received from Suleman, who instructed their aunt Saeeda to “eliminate” Samira.

Subsequently, Walid and Israr allegedly opened fire on Samira Aziz with pistols, hitting her in multiple parts of the body and killing her on the spot.

After the shooting, the suspects fled the scene, while the victim’s body was transported to the hospital by her uncles Shaukat and Faisal.

Police have registered a case under charges of murder, honor killing, and abetment of crime. Raids are underway to arrest the suspects Walid, Israr, and Sabir, while the victim’s uncle Imtiaz and husband Suleman are currently residing abroad.
