Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has stated that medicine prices were deregulated for the benefit of both the public and the industry, but the results are proving to be the opposite.
Mustafa Kamal said that prices were deregulated to benefit the people and the industry; however, instead of relief, the public is facing losses. According to market reports, after deregulation, medicine prices have risen sharply.
He said, “A medicine that costs Rs. 7 is being sold for Rs. 70 in the market. A survey is being conducted, and action will be taken against those forming cartels once the report is completed.”
