A tragic incident was reported in the Kanalanwala area of Mianwali, where a two-month-old infant girl was allegedly killed by her parents for not being born a boy. According to the FIR, the parents were unhappy with the birth of a daughter and were allegedly eager to have a son.
Police said the couple reportedly drowned the child by throwing her into a water tank two days ago. The father has been arrested, while the mother fled the scene and is currently being sought by authorities.
Investigators added that samples collected from the infant’s body have been sent to Lahore for forensic examination, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the report is received.
