Gujrat police have registered a highly unusual case after an FIR was lodged accusing a “jinn” named Adil—along with a former son-in-law—of sexually assaulting a woman.
According to official records, the complaint was filed by a woman from Village Bhadar, within the jurisdiction of Kharian’s Kakrali Police Station. The FIR states that the accused former son-in-law, identified as 17-year-old Kabir, was allegedly “possessed” by a supernatural entity named Adil, who would overpower him and assault the complainant.
Police officials said that, acting on the directions of the District Police Officer (DPO), a case was formally registered against Kabir and the alleged “jinn.” The complainant claims the entity had been “in love” with her and committed the assault through the teenager.
Station House Officer (SHO) Kakrali confirmed that the woman’s medico-legal examination has been completed and the report is expected within one to two days. He added that raids are under way to arrest the former son-in-law, while the unusual claims related to the “jinn” will be assessed during the investigation
