All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz emerged as Pakistan’s top T20 performer in 2025, delivering exceptional performances throughout the year.
The 31-year-old left-arm spinner and left-handed batter from Rawalpindi fully justified the trust placed in him by white-ball head coach Mike Hesson, especially in the shortest format.
In July 2025, Nawaz claimed 7 wickets at an average of 21.52 against the West Indies in Florida, earning the Player of the Series award.
He repeated his brilliance in August 2025 during the Pakistan–Afghanistan–UAE series in Sharjah, scoring 120 runs and taking 10 wickets in 5 matches, once again securing the Player of the Series title.
Nawaz continued his outstanding form in November 2025 at Rawalpindi during the Pakistan–Sri Lanka–Zimbabwe Tri-Series, where he collected 52 runs and 10 wickets, becoming the Player of the Series for the third time in the year.
Overall, Nawaz won four Player of the Match awards in 26 T20 matches in 2025.
Throughout the year, he bowled 74.4 overs, conceding 490 runs and taking 36 wickets, the highest tally in Pakistan’s T20 calendar year with an impressive average of 13.16.
With the bat, Nawaz contributed 362 runs at an average of 19.05, including a top score of 38 not out. Maintaining a strike rate of 138.16, he smashed 24 fours and 21 sixes.
