KARACHI – Renowned actor Nabeel Zafar has humorously suggested that instead of being fined, Karachi’s drivers deserve rewards for successfully navigating the city’s chaotic roads.
Commenting on social media about the newly implemented e-challan system, Nabeel Zafar said that anyone who manages to drive safely through Karachi’s pothole-ridden streets, reckless traffic, and endless jams should be applauded, not penalized.
He added that Karachiites face daily struggles on the road — from broken infrastructure to impatient drivers — yet continue to show remarkable patience and resilience. “Reaching your destination safely in this city is nothing short of an achievement,” he quipped.
The Sindh government recently introduced the e-challan system across major roads in Karachi, resulting in thousands of fines being sent to citizens’ homes. However, the move has sparked criticism from the public and political parties alike, with many urging the government to fix the city’s deteriorating roads before enforcing traffic penalties.
