Islamabad : A newly built section of the F-8 road in Islamabad collapsed on Wednesday after heavy rainfall, despite being completed just 45 days ago. The incident has sparked public outrage and renewed concerns over poor construction quality and infrastructure standards in the capital.

The collapse created a large crater in the middle of the road, disrupting traffic and posing serious risks to motorists and pedestrians. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the road has been closed off by authorities for safety and inspection.

City officials have launched an immediate inquiry into the incident, aiming to determine whether substandard materials or negligence during construction were to blame. Engineers and municipal teams have been deployed to assess the damage and begin repair work.

This event comes amid continuous monsoon rains that have already caused flooding and damage in several parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Citizens are expressing frustration over the durability of public infrastructure, especially projects completed in recent months.

Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
