Pakistan’s veteran left-arm spinner Noman Ali has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award for October 2025, following his remarkable performance in the Test series against South Africa.
According to the ICC, the shortlist features three spin bowlers — Noman Ali (Pakistan), Senuran Muthusamy (South Africa), and Rashid Khan (Afghanistan) — each of whom made a strong impact during October.
Noman’s outstanding display in Lahore’s opening Test — where he took 10 wickets in the match (6/112 and 4/79) — guided Pakistan to a memorable 93-run victory. He followed it up with four more wickets and a useful 17 runs in the second Test in Rawalpindi, helping Pakistan secure the series.
The 38-year-old spinner’s consistency has also lifted him to No. 3 in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings, his career-best position so far.
Voting for the Player of the Month award is open to both the ICC Voting Academy (consisting of former players, journalists, and broadcasters) and fans, whose votes make up 10 percent of the total.
If Noman Ali wins, he will become the first Pakistani spinner since Yasir Shah to claim the monthly honour — a proud moment for Pakistan cricket and a testament to the country’s spin legacy.
