KARACHI – One suspected robber was killed, and three others were arrested in injured condition following separate police encounters in Karachi on Monday. One suspect managed to flee during the operations.
According to details, a shootout occurred near Kashmir Plaza on Shaheed-e-Millat Road within the jurisdiction of Baloch Colony Police Station, where one suspect was killed and two others were injured during an exchange of fire with police. The deceased and injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital via Chhipa ambulance.
Police identified the deceased as Sikandar, son of Umar, while the injured suspects were named Irfan, son of Shahnawaz Ali, and Rashid Ali, son of Muhammad Ali. Authorities recovered illegal weapons, cash, and a motorcycle used in the crimes from their possession.
According to the police, the suspects opened fire after being signaled to stop by a patrolling unit. The officers returned fire in self-defense, resulting in one fatality and two arrests. CCTV footage of the exchange confirmed that the suspects attempted to flee after firing at police officers stationed at a checkpoint.
In a separate incident, Ibrahim Hyderi Police arrested a suspect identified as Usama alias Shero in an injured condition following an encounter with street criminals. His accomplice managed to escape. Police recovered a pistol with ammunition, mobile phone, and cash from the suspect, who was later shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.
Police said legal proceedings are underway, and raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding suspects.
