KARACHI – A suspect killed in a recent police encounter in Orangi Town has been identified as the man involved in the brutal murder of a father in front of his children.
According to details, the suspect, identified as Noor Hussain alias Nono, son of Nasir Hussain, was killed during an exchange of fire between police and armed robbers near Dhabeji Mor in Sector 11½ of Orangi Town. Police investigations revealed that the deceased, along with his accomplice Muhammad Bilal, was involved in the September 28 incident in Muhammad Mustafa Colony, where a citizen named Sajjad was shot dead in front of his children during a robbery attempt.
DIG West Irfan Ali Baloch confirmed that Muhammad Bilal, who was driving the motorcycle during the crime, had been arrested three days earlier by Iqbal Market Police. CCTV footage of the incident, widely shared on social media, clearly showed the suspects firing and fleeing the scene.
Acting on the information obtained from the arrested suspect and CCTV evidence, police launched an operation to apprehend the main suspect. However, Noor Hussain opened fire on the police team, prompting retaliatory fire in which he was fatally wounded.
Authorities recovered a weapon with ammunition, a mobile phone, and cash from the suspect. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar lauded DIG West and his team for their brave action, saying that eliminating such a dangerous criminal who targeted innocent citizens was a commendable act of courage.
